If you are shipping sufficient quantities we will recommend a container for your exclusive use. This is the ideal solution as the container can be positioned and loaded on site and sealed in your customer's presence, delivered directly to the port of departure and shipped on board the first available vessel.
A full container Load (FCL) is a standard (twenty or forty -foot) - container usually intended for one shipper or consignee. The full container is normally packed by the shipper and unloaded by the consignee it streamlines the cargo handling process. Containerization (FCL) is a system of freight transport based on a range of steel intermodal containers (also 'shipping containers', 'ISO containers' etc).
The Containers are built to standardized dimensions, and can be loaded and unloaded, stacked, transported efficiently over long distances, and transferred from one mode of transport to another without being opened. The FCL system has greatly reduced transport costs, and supported a vast increase in international trade.
Full container loads attract lower freight rates than the equitant amount of freight sent by less than container load shipments or loose (break bulk cargo)
How do i know if I'll need a 20' or 40 ' shipping container?
20' containers can hold about 28-30 Cubic meters or 22000 kg or usually enough space for a 3 to 4 bedroom household or 1 vehicle with a few, small-sized household goods. While 40' containers can hold about 60-67 Cubic meters or 22000 kg and are usually reserved for 4 to 5 bedroom households or 1 vehicle and a 2 bedroom household.
